Five ways to stay cool during the night

Winter is now behind us and the first hot days won't be long to point the tip of their nose.

If the summer is synonymous with relaxation, barbecue and drinks, overwhelming temperatures may disturb your sleep.

So to prepare for good sleep at night here are 5 tips to stay cool.

    Choose linen sheets:

Leave in your closet satin, silk, or polyester for cool nights of winter. Light colors in light linen sheets are breathable and excellent for ventilation and air circulation in the room. Indeed, the linen sheets stick less to the skin than polyester. This creates air bubbles that allow better ventilation.

    Opt for wide Pajamas:

You can choose a pyjama composed of a t-shirt and loose shorts made in cotton or sleep in your underwear. Sleeping naked is not the best solution because the moisture does not evacuate which reinforces the feeling of heat. Choose a cotton pajamas and avoid synthetics like nylon or silk, as they are not breathable and may choke you more.

    Circulate air in the room:

To improve the feeling of freshness during the night you can leave the door of your room open and position the fan in the corner of the room making sure it is facing your bed.

Avoid to position the fan on your face, your back, or too close to your body. Pointing it towards your face could cause some tension in the muscles of your neck, as well as allergies or diseases.

Prepare yourself before going to bed:

A shower or a warm bath, a bit of fresh water on the face are all small steps that can help you sleep better when it's hot. This decreases the core temperature of the body, get rid of the sweat and facilitates sleep.

    Use a conditioner:

If nevertheless you still cannot sleep during periods of high heat, left you than to invest in an air conditioner. These devices allow to keep the room at an ideal temperature for sleep, between 17 and 21 degrees. Downside, air conditioners consume a lot of energy and it will be felt on the electricity bill.
