How to maintain the linen’s quality?

Linen is a unique natural material that gives the clothes and bed linens an exceptional touch and quality.

But if this material, used for the manufacture of clothing, accessories and bed linen have such benefits, it must be carefully maintained.

Here are a few tips to maintain your confections in linen.

    Washing the linen:

First, be aware that the linen can be washed without problem in a washing machine. But to not risk damaging it, take a few precautions to beginning by sorting it. It is preferred to wash parts of equivalent colors at the same time to avoid the risk of discoloration.

Do not overload the washing machine and use a temperature not exceeding 40 C°. The washing product must also be chosen carefully because it must not contain whitening agents which would risk the linen to lose its natural color.

For colored linen, you can use a special color detergent, for a white linen a special white laundry linen will be good.

    Drying the linen:

The linen can be dried in the open air or in a dryer.

If you opt for the first solution, be sure to put it to dry immediately after the end of the cycle. A drying on wire or clothesline will ensure quick drying with a nice crumpled outcome. If you want to dry the linen, program a cycle at low temperatures. Do not overfill the drum of the dryer to avoid the formation of wrinkles. Finally, you can add a tennis ball in the dryer drum, this will prevent the formation of brittle folds.

    Ironing the linen:

It is strongly recommended to iron the linen when it is completely dry. Better take it again when it is still slightly damp, after the washing cycle, or by spraying a little water over it.

Start ironing the linen once the iron is hot and preferably upside down to avoid the formation of wrinkles.

    Well ranger the linen:

The linen is sensitive to light which can discolor it quickly. Then to keep the beauty of the linen, it is best to store it in a place sheltered from the light. It will be placed immediately after ironing and especially remember to check that it is dry to not result in the appearance of mildow. If you store your clothes in linen on wooden shelves, think to cover it in advance with the tissue paper.
